Introduction :
Takshashila University, through its School of Allied Health Sciences, organized an Eye Health Camp on 7 July 2026 at Ganga Vidhyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School, Malaiyanur, with the objective of promoting eye health awareness and facilitating the early detection of vision-related disorders among school students.
The initiative reflects the University’s commitment to community healthcare, preventive medicine, and public health outreach by delivering essential eye care services while encouraging healthy vision practices among young learners.

Objectives of the Eye Health Camp :
A total of 122 participants were screened, comprising 117 students and 5 faculty members.
The screening outcomes included:
- 90students with normal visual acuity.
- 26 students identified with refractive errors requiring further evaluation.
- 1 student diagnosed with alternating exotropia.
- 4 faculty members identified with presbyopia.
- 2 faculty members diagnosed with nasal pterygium.
Vision Screening and Eye Care Services :

Takshashila University, through the Department of Optometry, School of Allied Health Sciences, conducted an Eye Health Camp for school students, providing comprehensive vision screening using standard optometric assessment techniques. The programme facilitated the early identification of vision-related conditions, and students requiring further evaluation were referred for specialized ophthalmic care and appropriate follow-up.
